Google Analytics 4 (GA4) Integration

This section explains how to integrate Google Analytics 4 (GA4) data into Sparque so that you can use your analytics data within Sparque Desk. By following these steps, you will be able to create reports in Sparque Hub and incorporate them into your workflows.

Prerequisites

  • Access to Google Analytics 4 with admin privileges
  • A Sparque Hub account

Adding the Sparque Service Account to Google Analytics

To get started, you need to grant Sparque access to your GA4 data:

  1. Log in to Google Analytics using your GA4 account.

  2. Open the GA4 admin panel.
    To do this, click the gear icon in the lower left corner.

  3. Under the Property column, select Account Access Management or Property Access Management depending on where you want to grant access.

  4. Click the "+" button and select Add users.

  5. Add the Sparque Service account:

    1. Enter sparque-ga4@sparque-ga4.iam.gserviceaccount.com as the e-mail address.
    2. Assign the Viewer role to grant read-only access.
    3. Click Add to save the changes.

Creating a GA4 Report in Sparque Hub

Once you have granted access, you can create a GA4 report in Sparque Hub:

  1. Navigate to Sparque Hub and log in to your account.

  2. In the main menu, open the Integrations section and select Google Analytics 4.

  3. Click the Create Report button.

  4. Specify the following report details:

    • Report Name: Enter a name for your report.
    • Start Date and End Date: Specify the time range for the data you want to retrieve.
  5. Add dimensions and metrics:

    • Select the dimensions and metrics you want to include in your report.
    • Optional: Add filters for dimensions and metrics to limit the data based on specific criteria.
  6. When you have set all the parameters, click Create Report.

NOTE:

The report generation process may take some time, depending on the amount of data.

Using the Report in Sparque Desk

Once your report is generated, you can integrate it into Sparque Desk as part of your data pipeline:

  1. Copy the report URL.
    The URL will be provided after the report has been generated.
  2. Go to Sparque Desk and navigate to the pipeline where you want to include the GA4 data.
  3. Add the copied report URL to the pipeline configuration.

The data is synchronized every night so that your report is always up to date.
